KI-XL-03_04

Description

A Low Density Cross Linkable Polyethylene Compound where silane is incorporated to PE through grafting; This product is suitable for Low Voltage Power Cables (LT applications). The above product consists of 2 Components i.e. Grafted Polymer – Grade KI-XL-03 & Catalyst Master Batch Grade KI-XL-04 (KI-XL-04 MD for Copper Conductor) to be premixed prior to use at a ratio of 95:05. Such system allows the compound to be extruded as a normal thermoplastic in a conventional PE (or even PVC) extrusion line, thus obviating the need of an expensive continuous vulcanizing (CV) extrusion line. The cross-linking step is subsequently carried out by immersion in hot water (Sauna), or exposure to steam. In each case, time of curing is to be optimized as a function of thickness of insulation, concentration of catalyst and temperature.
